Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training courses teach people to spot the symptoms of mental health issues, offer initial help and guide a person towards support. Just like physical first aid, participants are taught to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.

Mental health related absences cost UK employers an estimated £34 billion per year

By skilling your organisation in MHFA you can:

  • Give your people the tools to keep themselves and their colleagues healthy

  • Encourage them to access support when it’s needed, for a faster recovery

  • Empower people with a long term mental health issue or disability to thrive in work

  • Stop preventable health issues arising by building a supportive culture around mental health

  • Embed positive, long term cultural change across your organisation

Training options suit a range of timescales and budgets, from basic mental health awareness sessions to a full Mental Health First Aider qualification:

  • Two days - Mental Health First Aiders

  • One day - Workplace Mental Health Champions

  • One day - Higher Education Mental Health Champions

  • Four hour - Mental Health Awareness

  • Four hour - Mental Health Refresher

All MHFA courses offered are written and certified by MHFA England.

Research and evaluation shows that MHFA courses make a lasting difference in people’s knowledge and confidence around mental health. They are written by experts, grounded in research, and tested by people with lived experience of mental ill health.
